The Feldenkrais Method guides participants through a series of gentle soft movements that are designed to show the nervous system where you may be holding unnecessary tension or where your muscles may be making parasitic ancillary movements. By allowing yourself to fully relax and deeply focus on how your nervous system directs your muscles to move you will find ways to move with greater ease and efficiency.


The Feldenkrais Method is based on principles of physics, biomechanics, and neuroplasticity. Your awareness and attention stimulates your brain to create new neural pathways which will enable optimal movement patterns and function. As you learn better ways to move, you will experience improvements in balance, breathing, coordination, flexibility, cognition, and outlook.


There are two ways to experience the Feldenkrais Method -

  • Awareness Through Movement group classes where following my verbal instructions you will move slowly and gently and explore with growing awareness how your body moves, and 
  • Functional Integration private one-on-one sessions where I will guide you using gentle, non-invasive touch as our primary means of communication while you remain fully clothed.

What Feldenkrais means to me

  I became intrigued after attending just a few Awareness Through Movement classes by how such soft gentle movements could be so interesting and have such a profound effect on how I felt, stood, and moved. As I slowed down and examined my movements more deeply my awareness expanded, including not only how I used my musculature and my skeleton but how I thought about what I felt. Or more accurately, how I felt what I felt.    


My work as a Feldenkrais Method instructor is extremely subtle. I use just the gentlest of touch in my Functional Integration sessions to assist you in the embodiment of your desires and needs. As an Awareness Through Movement teacher I will assist you in being in connection with your body as all of who you really are.
